How do i know if im galloping?

i don't think ive ever officially galloped my pony before, he's pretty fast when he wants to be especially on fun rides, but i don't know if ive galloped or not. my pony is 21 and a welsh x but not sure what crossed with and he is a pretty speedy little pony, but how do i know if im galloping?
